Radiance. A glow that comes from within — not borrowed, not applied. Her own.

Label Abha is a conscious women's wear label from Kolkata, born from twenty years in fabric and a simple belief: what you wear should feel like you.

Where It Began

Twenty years of touching cloth teaches you who really makes it beautiful.

Label Abha began long before its first stitch. Our founder spent two decades in the fabric trade — among looms, yarns and weaves, learning cloth the way some people learn a language, by the feel of it between finger and thumb.

Those years taught one simple truth: some of the most extraordinary textile work in India comes from hands the world never sees. In the small towns of Bengal, women have practised kantha for generations — running a needle through layered cloth in patient, even lines, turning the everyday into the heirloom. The craft endured. The craftswomen rarely got their due.

In 2025, Label Abha was founded in Kolkata as our answer to that — a label where the women who make beautiful things are the centre of the story, not a footnote to it.

The Craft

Kantha: Bengal's running stitch, one patient line at a time.

Kantha is one of the oldest embroidery traditions of the subcontinent — a humble running stitch repeated thousands of times, until plain cloth begins to ripple like water. There are no shortcuts and no machines. Just a needle, a thread, and time.

Every kantha piece at Label Abha is embroidered entirely by hand. Hold one up to the light and you'll see it — no two stitches identical, no two pieces the same. That gentle irregularity isn't a flaw. It's a signature.

The Women Behind the Work

The craft should sustain the craftswoman.

Our kantha is embroidered by women artisans from the smaller towns of Bengal — many working from home, around their families, on their own time. We work with them directly and pay fairly, so the skill that has lived in their families for generations can also provide for them.

When you bring home a kantha piece from Label Abha, you're not just buying embroidery. You're helping keep a living tradition alive — and putting earnings directly into the hands of the women who carry it.

What We Make

Earthy luxury, everyday ease.

Heritage is half our story. The other half is now. Alongside kantha, we design contemporary pieces for the way women actually live — shirt dresses in Giza satin, breathable linen–cotton co-ord sets, and house coats you won't want to take off.

Earthy palettes. Premium, skin-friendly fabrics. Silhouettes that move from morning chai to evening plans without trying too hard. We call it earthy luxury — quiet, comfortable, considered.

Slow over fast

We make in small batches, with patience. Good things take time, and we let them.

Hands over machines

Handwork is visible in every kantha piece — and that's exactly the point.

Comfort is luxury

If it doesn't feel good against your skin, it doesn't leave our studio.

Conscious by choice

Natural-leaning fabrics, mindful making, and fair work for the hands behind it.

A Note from the Founder

"I've spent most of my working life around fabric. Label Abha is my attempt to give those years a meaning beyond the trade — to build a brand where craft is respected, the women behind it are valued, and the woman wearing it feels, simply, like herself. Thank you for being part of this story."
